«Gazprom Austria GmbH», a subsidiary of the gas giant «Gazprom», has recently put its assets up for sale through an auction. This move was caused by the company’s bankruptcy, which led to a debt of over 31 million euros being accumulated. As a result, 236 items, including furniture, equipment, paintings, safes, plants, and even a map of the European pipeline, were sold at the auction.
The Austrian branch of «Gazprom» has already submitted an application for restructuring. Currently, the company is actively working on restoring its financial stability. However, «Gazprom» has not yet decided whether to continue or terminate its partnership with its Austrian subsidiary. Nonetheless, this remains a valuable lesson for «Gazprom», emphasizing the importance of monitoring financial obligations to avoid liabilities and safeguard business operations.
